Academic Enrichment

Elementary_boys_3Learning at TCCS is not confined to the four walls of the classroom as many teachers seek to inspire and engage their students with enriching educational field and study trips throughout the year.

In addition, students participate in local and regional competitions in Math Olympics, Art Festival, Speech Meet and Writing. A rich Performing Arts program is evident through the many grade level and school productions showcased during the year. There are many opportunities for students to showcase their God-given talents at TCCS!

TCCS Elementary Highlights

Performing Arts Programs

Our students in Kindergarten through 6th grade are provided the opportunity to have a weekly music/performing arts class along with many opportunities to perform at school-wide programs and evening events for parents, grandparents, and friends. Grandparent’s Day, Veterans’ Day, Christmas, grade level programs, are just a few of the many spectacular performing arts productions that honor and inspire our guests to see the value of a Christ-centered education.

Spelling Bee

Students in grades 1-6 participate in a school spelling bee with the winners going on to the ACSI District Spelling Bee.

Math Olympics

Students in grades 1-6 compete for the opportunity to represent TCCS at the ACSI District Math Olympics.

Speech Meet

Annually, students in grades 1-6 select a poem, passage of Scripture, a short story, or a monologue and memorize it for the purpose of delivering an oral presentation. Selected students represent TCCS at the ACSI District Speech Meet.

Tri-City Christian has hosted the ACSI District Speech Meet for many years.

Book Fair

Our students are provided with the annual opportunity to expand their own personal library as a weeklong book fair is held to inspire our young readers.

Field Trips

Students in all grades take field trips, carefully aligned with instructional goals, to enhance their learning experiences.

Enriching the learning experience

Engaging educational experiences involve guest speakers consisting of parents, authors, artists, musicians, doctors, nurses, military, and other professionals.

Art Festival

Students in grades K-6 enter their art work in the yearly TCCS Art Fair. The winners go on to the ACSI District Art Festival.

Reading Buddies

Several of our upper elementary classes partner with our lower elementary classes to spend time reading with each other. This gives both groups of children extra practice time reading aloud. It also forms a bond between the different age groups.

2nd and 3rd Grade iPod Touch Program

Our 2nd and 3rd graders are able to have hands-on experience with the iTouch. They are able to play word games, spelling games, and math games. Students can read into the iTouch, and then listen back for corrections, expression, etc. The students can “google earth” and see the continents and regions of the earth that they are studying. They also did a “podcast” on the continents.

5th and 6th grade enrichment wheel

Our 5th and 6th grade classes rotate into different electives each quarter. This year they have had experience with Drama, Art, Computers, and American Sign Language.

Book It!

Reading Program
Some of our classes participate in the Book It! Reading Program. Pizza Hut celebrates student’s reading accomplishments by rewarding them with a free Personal Pan Pizza.

Study Trips

Our 4th grade students have a historical focus on California history throughout the year culminating in a trip to visit the state capitol in Sacramento. This 3 day trip is filled with activities as students experience our state history first hand through panning for gold, touring our capitol, ...

Our 6th grade students travel to Forrest Home for a hands-on learning experience at science camp. This 3 day trip allows students the opportunity to explore God's creation.
