Course description: This introductory course focuses on developing skills in drawing and painting. Students will learn appropriate techniques for handling a variety of media. Students will gain a working knowledge of the artist’s vocabulary and apply artistic principles to their works of art. Students will create seven finished pieces of artwork: still life in acrylic; landscape in acrylic; architectural drawing in pen and ink; animal art in pen and ink with watercolor; portraiture in watercolor; figure drawing in any water-based media; and a calligraphy project. Students will be expected to select two of their finished pieces for inclusion into the Tri-City Art Festival.

Multi Media Arts – UC Approval Pending

Course description: This course covers studies in idea creation, movie planning, storyboarding, script/screenplay writing, production planning, camera fundamentals and techniques, shot composition, lighting, audio recording, non-linear editing and distribution. The new technologies of electronic communication are relegating old and freed media such as pamphlets, platforms and periodicals to a corner of the public platform. This course will prepare students to effectively use digital media to communicate with and influence the current culture. By creating projects, critical thinking and organizational skills will be developed.
Choir - UC Approved

Course description: Students in this course learn and perform beginning, intermediate and some advanced levels of choral literature from selected musical genres and eras. Students learn basic music theory and performance, as well as exploring music history and creating an environment of music appreciation from diverse cultures and backgrounds. The course is divided into one semester of theory and one semester of music history / appreciation. Both semesters include 2 -3 performances with one performance including costuming and choreography. In addition, singers will participate in the annual ACSI Musicale Choral Festival in Pasadena, California, learning the required pieces for the Mass Choir and individual pieces for adjudication.

Course description: This course introduces students to the basics of drama and helps students to develop an appreciation of dramatic literature and the dramatic profession through reading scripts and reading and writing projects. Through dramatic activities students are provided an arena to improve and polish personal skills. Students also gain an appreciation for the history of theater and the acting profession.
Guitar 1 - UC Approved

Course description: This introductory course takes the student who knows very little about music and who doesn't know how to play the guitar to become a guitarist who can perform in a variety of styles and play music in a worship setting. Emphasis is placed on building skills and techniques. The student will learn a great deal of music theory and be exposed to a variety of guitar styles. Students must provide their own acoustic guitar (steel string or classical).
