Life Science 7

Grade level: 7th grade (Two Semesters)

Pre-requisite: 6th Grade Science

Course description:
Life Science 7 is the study of life and of living things. It teaches science as man’s attempt to observe and describe the natural processes that God has established to govern His universe. This course starts with an introduction to scientific problem solving, research, measurement and the use of the microscope. Through the use of the Life Science text, study guides, handouts and lab activities, the students will begin the journey into the study of living things. Starting with organic compounds and cells then moving up the life chain from simple organisms to plants and animals to the human body. The course finishes with instruction on how all of these organisms interact together with our environment.

 


 

8th Grade Science

Grade level: 8th grade (Two Semesters)

Pre-requisite: None

Course description:
Eighth Grade Science explores the makeup and structure of earth. Students will develop an understanding of plate tectonics and its relationship to earthquakes and volcanoes. They will also discover how the earth is constantly changing through weathering, erosion, and deposition. Students will also develop an understanding of the creation of fossils and geologic time.
