After a record-breaking season, the TCCS Girls’ Softball Team won the CIF Division V Championship for the first time in school history. Coach Lisa Chappell was honored as CIF Coach of the Year, by sports writers in the San Diego sports community. When asked about the championship win, Coach Chappell credited the team for working hard all season and getting big wins. “When we hit the playoffs we were very focused and determined to take it all,” said Chappell. In a 15-0 shut-out win over Horizon Christian, TCCS set a CIF record for “runs scored” in a playoff game for all divisions. “What a tremendous honor for a Division V school,” Coach Chappell added. Starting and winning pitcher, Jessica Chappell received the sportsmanship award at the CIF Championship Game. |
