Tri-City Christian family and friends were treated to a delicious presentation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory during the last weekend of October. Drama teacher Christine Howell was elated with the turnout of more than 650 in attendance over the two days.

The fun and fanciful story included a cast of 28 TCCS students, including Seniors Hunter White as Willie Wonka, Katie Evans as Charlie Bucket, and Michael Donnell as Grandpa Joe. A sweet part of this successful presentation was the fact that it starred eight of our varsity football players. And for many of the cast members, it was their first time on stage! Howell said the play was two months in the making, with rehearsals starting back in August. As far as the play’s rave reviews, she points to the star of the show, Hunter White and said “Without Hunter as Willie Wonka, it would be a different show.”

Kudos to a job well done to all the students involved, including the 8th graders who made their music video for the film portion of the presentation. Look for the next big production in the spring as our Starring Eagles present Hello Dolly.
