The TCCS lifer was approached by a church friend this past summer about the great need for keeping the local food bank shelves stocked. After a trip to the North County Food Bank, Akin was convinced that his fellow classmates would step up and help. Following the example Christ told in Matthew 5, Project One Can is about feeding the hungry, one can of food at a time. The project’s motto: One Can Make a Difference. “This is a great way for students to get involved and get their community service hours as well,” said Akin. 1,400 cans were collected to help replenish the food bank’s shelves. ASB student leaders helped Zach collect and organize cans and demonstrate how one can make a difference, one can at a time. |
