Grades K-6

The Elementary years provide the opportunity to establish the foundation of a Biblical-Christian Worldview.

Elementary students discover who they are and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. K-6 students develop a love for learning as well as a love for others.  Academic rigor centers around engaging activities designed to master basic standards and promote critical thinking.  While learning to become “Spiritual Champions,” students also have the opportunity to participate in STEAM Challenge Class, Chess Club, a Live Theater Production, Campus Service, Memorable Field Trips, a California History Tour, and Sixth Grade Science Camp.

Fourth Grade CA History Tour

In early May, Fourth-Graders set off on a chaperoned adventure to Sacramento & San Francisco.  Students pan for gold at Sutter’s Mill and walk through Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park. The group also visits The State Capitol Building, The CA State Railway Museum, The Jelly Belly Factory, Alcatraz Island, Pier 39, and Ghirardelli Square.

Fifth Grade Revolutionary War Adventure

In early March Fifth-Graders experience Colonial Life at Riley’s Farm, in Riverside County.  This overnight US History adventure includes an inspirational visit from Patrick Henry, a skirmish with some redcoats, and, of course, a full colonial breakfast.

Sixth Grade Science Camp

In late October Sixth-Graders travel to Astro-Camp in Idyllwild, CA.  This residential Science Camp gives students a chance to work together as they explore God’s creation through the natural sciences.  Students also take a three day break from electronics as they hike, zipline, and enjoy a true “Outdoor School.”

Elementary Spiritual Life

Tri-City Christian School partners with parents to train up Spiritual Champions for Jesus Christ.

But, what is a Spiritual Champion?

  • Every month our K-6 students focus on a specific Christ-Like Character Trait (such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control).  At our final Thursday Chapel of each month we recognize one Spiritual Champion from each of our K-6 classrooms.
  • Every school year we measure Spiritual Growth by recording student responses to two specific, grade-appropriate “Spiritual Tracker” questions.  For example, Kindergarten students respond to, “Who is God?” and “Who is Jesus?” while 3rd Grade students describe, “What does it mean to be an image-bearer of God?” and “How do I accept Jesus as my Savior?”  These responses allow us to “track” Spiritual Growth throughout each student’s elementary experience.
